Overview

Video is arguably one of the best ways to communicate over the internet - it displays authenticity, is fun to consume, and gets great results from a marketing standpoint.

However, properly delivering a video via email can be a pain.

Most email clients don't allow you to physically embed a video inside of an email the same way you would, say, embed one inside of a web page.

The best practice has always been to take a thumbnail image from the video, put a "play" button on it, put that image in your email, and then link that image to the video on YouTube, Vimeo, etc.

That's a pain...and we make it easier.

How To Insert A Video Into Your Email

To get started, head over to either Bulk email, Campaigns, or the Journey that you would like to customize an email. In this example we are going to use the first email in the New Lead campaign. Click on "Edit This Step".

From here, click the purple "Customize Email" button.

After that, you'll be taken to the email builder. Simply drag the "Video" button to the spot where you want the video to be.

NOTE: If you would like to place a Video inside the middle of a text box, you will have to add another Text box, then cut and past the info into that box.

Click on the "Add a video url" button.

Add the url of the video you wish to display, you have a couple options here; add Padding around the video and Hide on mobile.

As it was mentions in the video above, you can customize the Play Icon Type, Play Icon Color, and Play Icon Size.

When you are done make sure you click on the purple "Save" button, and it's always a good ideal to send a test email by clicking on "Send Test".
